I've played with these and the Aramith Super Pros, and there is little if any difference in playability. Supposedly, the Aramith Pro, Tournament, and other high-end sets have a special outer material that will keep the balls from burning the felt, especially if you're using Simonis cloth. I have this standard set which I use on Simonis 860 and have not had a problem. I have a couple minor marks on the cloth from jumping the cue, but I'm not using the cue that came with this set anyway. I upgraded and got the Aramith six dot cue which comes with the $288 pro set. That cue ball is about $30 here on Amazon. For a while if you wanted the six dot you had to buy it in the more expensive set, but they don't do that anymore. The new $240 Arimith Tournament balls use a new resin formula, though I'm not sure what the improvement is, I would assume it's a stronger material to avoid nicks, scratches and chips. The higher priced Arimith sets also have a different look, including the TV set with the pink 4 and 12, but really when it comes to playability there is virtually no difference between the standard or pro/tournament sets. Arimith balls are the best, and even with this set I wouldn't worry too much about wear on the surface. These are very good balls.
